The riverside, Heritage Borough of Gravesham, situated in the North West corner of Kent on the River Thames covers some 25,000 areas of the most varied countryside to be formed in the South East of England.

Regeneration
Gravesham Borough Council is at the forefront of regeneration and awarded a 'Beacon Status' for Town Centre regeneration in 2001. Gravesham Council created its own regeneration scheme under IMPACT. Channel Tunnel Rail-Link/Ebbsfleet
The Ebbsfleet station, between Gravesend and Swanscombe in North Kent will be close to the A2 trunk road and M25. It will be served by Eurostar International trains and by domestic trains between London St Pancras, Stratford, Gravesend, the Medway Towns and East Kent. Ebbsfleet (Northfleet) will be only 15 minutes from London (St Pancras). Along the Ebbsfleet Valley, some 20,000 new job opportunities will be created.
The new international and domestic passenger interchange for the Channel Tunnel Rail Link will open in 2006/2007. This will create an international transport hub, connecting Kent Thameside to mainland Europe and to London (in 15 minutes).
